In today’s time lot of career options are available to students and still the students as well as parents are confused about which will be the right career path. That’s why Career counselling is important as it guides the student to explore the wide range of latest career options available and to choose the suitable career option.
The Counselling Process
Understanding & Discussing the report :
The Intelligence and Aptitude (iA) test designed by Jnana Prabodhini Samshodhan Sanshtha (JPSS) helps us to understand the abilities and orientation of the student. The test measures 8 types of intelligences or abilities(Cognitive, Reasoning, Figural memory, Spatial, Verbal, Social, Numerical, Numerical Memory) and 5 types of orientations( Knowledge, Practical, Artistic, Social, Power) to guide the student accurately to choose the right career path. The test report reflects strengths and weaknesses which aids us to guide the student to select the most suitable educational stream. A separate Counselling session is conducted for the student along with the parents for the understanding of the report and a detailed discussion is done about the report.
We advise the student to go through the ‘Test Report and the ‘Future Planner’ before coming to the Career Guidance session.
The Career Guidance :
We as your career guide help you pick the right career.
We are experts at assessing your aptitude, personality, interests, and other aspects of you. We use this evaluation to suggest the best career options from all the available and relevant options.
As a career guide we have the knowledge of Careers, their scope and the paths to pursue them. These are most important from the point of view of a parent and child, since most of the times, parents or guardians do not have that kind of knowledge.
Abilities and orientation which are not sufficient for a particular stream can be improved through concentrated efforts. Suggestions for improving student’s abilities are given in the test report. This is a long process and visible improvements will be seen after few months.
In addition Yash Career Guru will be there to guide you. We also have a Mentorship Program for the same.
In the report the scores are given in the form of Percentile Ranks. The percentile ranking is indicative of your standing with regard to the population of your peers It gives you an idea of what sort of competition is to be faced.
For example when you obtain a percentile rank of 85, you get the remark ‘Excellent’. But the Percentile Rank tells you that you have 15 more students ahead of you. To reach the top you need to compete with these students.
This report is indicative of which educational streams are currently suitable for the student. Yash Career Guru will guide you for selection of a particular stream, be it science or commerce, medical or engineering, CA or MBA.
